The foundation of Advantage Oil Company was laid not in a corporate boardroom, but inside the cozy spare bedroom of Gerard and Elizabeth McAveney’s Northeastern Pennsylvania log home. In 1996, Jerry and Liz began building a company rooted in community, hard work, and dependable service.
Jerry personally delivered fuel during evenings and weekends, often through challenging weather, while Liz managed calls, coordinated orders, and kept the growing business moving from their home office. Their sons, Sean and Brian, grew up learning the value of dedication firsthand — helping distribute flyers, supporting deliveries, and watching their parents build lasting customer relationships one household at a time.
A Legacy That Continues Today
Over the next two and a half decades, Advantage Oil Company grew through prompt delivery, rock-solid reliability, industry expertise, and the deeply personal customer relationships that defined its beginning. By 2020, as the company celebrated its silver anniversary, Sean and Brian assumed leadership of daily operations, continuing the values their parents built from the start.
